The Big Beautiful Bill: Key Changes for the Fire Sprinkler Industry

July 15, 2025

On Friday, July 4, 2025, President Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill into law that Congress had previously passed. The White House’s goal for this bill is to revitalize the U.S. economy. They want manufacturing giants and tech leaders alike to view the bill as a catalyst for job creation, domestic investment, and long-term growth.

The main highlights of the bill are cutting taxes on Social Security and increasing investments in America’s defense. However, there are two significant provisions in the House and Senate versions of the bill that will support the fire sprinkler industry. Those include:

  • Increasing the maximum Section 179 deduction from $1.3 million to $2.5 million.
    • This allows businesses to expense qualifying investments, enabling them to retrofit nearly 500,000 square feet and deduct the full cost.
  • Reinstating 100% bonus depreciation for QIP properties for tax years 2025-2030 and making bonus depreciation permanent.
    • This eliminates any cap on the amount a property owner can fully expense.

Aside from the benefits for the Fire and Life Safety industry, there are many others that can be found here. The signing of the bill is available to watch below.
