NFPA 2025 Recap

NFPA 2025 Recap

July 2, 2025

This year, our editorial team got to attend NFPA’s conference in Las Vegas! We generated a wealth of ideas for editorial content, but here’s a recap of what the conference covered. If you are in the fire safety industry, this event is a must-attend.

There were more than 130 live education sessions, workshops, General Session, and on-demand educational opportunities. The FPN team split up to make the most of our time and noticed major themes throughout the sessions, including the:

  • Expansion of technology
  • Lithium-ion battery fire risks
  • Ongoing threat of CO poisoning
  • Fire protection systems in warehouses and storage facilities
  • Differences between listed, recognized, and approved products

The keynote speaker for the event was Keller Rinaudo Clifton, the Founder and CEO of Zipline. Since founding it in 2014, he has expanded the company’s operations from Rwanda to multiple countries. Initially, delivering vaccines, blood, and medical supplies. They’ve now partnered with Walmart and others to offer home delivery for retail, e-commerce, and food through its silent, autonomous drone system, Platform 2. With over 1 million deliveries and 100 million autonomous miles flown, Zipline operates one of the largest autonomous delivery networks, advancing sustainable logistics.

After the presentation, NFPA announced the launch of its new “Don’t Chance Safety” campaign, highlighting the importance of standards. They’re not developed by guesswork, but the product of consensus, expertise, and decades of research. To help spread the word, they created the commercial below and the accompanying website.

Safety Doesn't Happen By Chance

Between sessions, the team also had the opportunity to attend the NFPA Expo, where we had the chance to speak with leading innovators and explore new developments. With over 400 exhibitors and 8,000 attendees, we certainly gained a lot of insight into the latest innovations.
