Man Rescued by Bystander in Ann Arbor Apartment Fire, Suffers Critical Burns

Ann Arbor, MI—A fire at West Arbor Apartments on N. Maple Road seriously injured a 68-year-old man, but the building’s sprinkler system played a crucial role in controlling the blaze. Activated by the fire, the sprinklers kept the flames in check until firefighters arrived, limiting damage to the apartment of origin and preventing the fire from spreading.
