If you were hoping to add some fiery flair to your Thanksgiving feast, you’ll have to wait until next year. On Nov. 14, 2025, Firehouse Subs aimed to extinguish hunger with the release of a first-of-its-kind holiday promotion, a gravy extinguisher. Though it has officially sold out, fans of the fireman-founded sub joint are hungry for more.
You read that right. This wasn’t just an ordinary gravy boat you can find sitting on the dining room table every November. Firehouse Subs took things up a notch with a bright red extinguisher that sprays gravy. Customers by the dozens flocked to FirehouseGravyRescue.com to snap up the limited-edition Gravy Extinguisher for $20 a pop, with all proceeds benefiting the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
Due to the overwhelming appetite for fun and flavor, the Firehouse Subs Gravy Extinguisher raised a substantial sum to support first responders across North America. Every dollar from the promotion went straight to the foundation, which has already donated over $100 million in life-saving equipment and critical resources.
“Thanksgiving emergencies happen,” quipped Mike Vizza, Firehouse Subs’ director of communications. “Whether your turkey’s a little toasty, or your stuffing’s a bit stuffy, the Gravy Extinguisher delivered—and every purchase helped us equip first responders with vital tools.”
Even though the Gravy Extinguisher promotion ended in record time, Firehouse Subs still has plenty to offer. Their fan-favorite Thanksgiving Turkey Sub has returned for a limited time, featuring carved turkey breast, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and mayo, all served hot on a toasted sub roll. They’ve also added comfort food sides, such as savory gravy, Extra Cheesy Mac & Cheese, and Double Chocolate Chip Cookies, to make the meal extra memorable.
The Gravy Extinguisher may be gone, but its impact will continue to burn brightly. Thanks for helping Firehouse Subs “pour” it forward for first responders. Considering the success of this promotion, it’ll be interesting to see what ideas they serve up in 2026.
