Ames Fire Department Praises Homeowner for Lifesaving Actions In Fire

Ames, IA—Alerted by working smoke detectors, the homeowner closed the bedroom door to slow the spread of smoke and evacuated her family and pets. She then used a fire extinguisher to control the fire until firefighters arrived, actions which the department said saved lives and limited damage. Read the entire article here.
